Based on the Marvel Comics character, Downey is billionaire military industrialist Tony Stark who is kidnapped and forced to build the world’s most destructive weapon. Instead, he builds an indestructible iron suit, dons it, escapes captivity, and begins dual life as Tony Stark/ Iron Man, dedicated to fighting evil. A bald but bearded Bridges is the right hand man (but maybe a traitor), Howard the best friend, Paltrow the exec. asst/possible love interest. Jon Favreau directs, so expect some humor throughout.

Dempsey and Mongaghan are lifelong best-friends. Dempsey has looks, money, and no trouble getting ladies. However, Monaghan is the one constant in his life. When she heads to Scotland for an extended stay, Dempsey realizes how empty his life is without her, and vows to propose marriage upon her return. She returns, engaged to wealthy McKidd. She asks Dempsey to be her maid of honor, and he agrees, seeing that the only way he can win her back, is to be in constant contact as she plans her big day.

Based on the cartoon series from the 70s (or was it the 60s?), Hirsch is speed racer, a natural behind the wheel, who races in a futuristic auto-racing world for his family run team led by daddy Goodman and mom Sarandon. When a competing team tries to recruit him and he declines, they are determined to make sure he never crosses the finish line first ever again. And Hirsch discovers that the races are being fixed, and teams with arch-rival driver Fox and girlfriend Ricci to beat the fixers, and save his beloved sport.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS (nyr)

Recently ditched Diaz, and recently fired Kutcher, head to Vegas to forget their troubles. There they meet, have a crazy night of partying, which ends with them waking up in bed together, a married couple. They both freak, fight about how to get an annulment quickly, and as they say goodbye, Kutcher drops a quarter in the slots and wins $3 million. Well they are married, so the fight begins over the money, as the couple physically and mentally fights each other hoping that the other will split.

The latest in the Narnia series, in this one we find ourselves in the land of Narnia with our four young adventurers, but the land of the evil King Miraz. Miraz happens to be the uncle to a new character for this round, Prince Caspian. Caspian is in hiding, as his uncle wants to kill him so his own son can become heir to the throne. So our youngsters find Caspian, and with the help of a kindly dwarf, a mouse, a badger, and other child adventure type elements, try to rescue the land of Narnia.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL

The studio itself not releasing much detail for this upcoming blockbuster, but various blogs give away some of the specifics, if they can be trusted. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a secret cave that holds a bunch of skulls, which if aligned in the correct order, do something magical. Not quite sure what, but when Professor Jones is presented with one of the skulls, only to have it stolen by some Russian agents, he goes on the hunt for the skull, and then to the Kingdom, fighting off the Russians the entire way.

SEX AND THE CITY: THE MOVIE (nyr)

Stars: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Christopher Noth

The film basically picks up where the series left off. And much of the regular cast returns, including Davis’ husband Evan Handler, Mario Cantone, and Cattrall’s boyfriend Jason Lewis. The movie is centered around the upcoming wedding between Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big, but there will of course be much drama with the other characters during the roll-up. From the trailer, we see that Nixon is having problems with her marriage, and Davis is finally pregnant. Otherwise, we await to see if the marriage occurs.

THE STRANGERS (R)

Stars: Liv Tyler, Scott Speedman, Gemma Ward, Kip Weeks, Laura Margolis

Horror flick where Tyler and Speedman are a young couple, who following a wedding reception, head for the middle of nowhere to spend the next week isolated for a romantic vacation. Plan looks good until 4am in the morning, when there’s a knock at the door, and an eerie masked man appears. In fact, there are a few of them, and our young couple will now be terrorized by the scary band of masked strangers, and must resort to extreme measures to fend them off, survive, and get out of Dodge safely.
