The United Nations officially recognizes equal rights for the world’s 650 million disabled persons.  The U.N. convention that goes into affect outlaws all forms of discrimination, and has been signed by 126 of the 192 member states.   Neither Russia or the United States has signed, the Bush administration saying the document is weaker than current U.S. legislation.

In 1988, William Earl Lynd murdered his girlfriend.  Now that the Supreme Court has approved lethal injection as a method for execution, Georgia is set today to make Mr. Lynd the first to feel the effects of that ruling.

Arraignment for 20-year-old Calin Chi Wong on charges of threatening to stage a Virginia Tech-style attack while engaged in an internet chat room.  Authorities found assault weapons and ammo at his house in Homestead, FL when he was arrested.
